The Pentel Energel Alloy RT looks much like the original; however, it is made of aluminum instead of plastic. The Energel and Pentel logos are etched into the aluminum barrel, but are inconspicuous giving the pen a more elegant appearance. When you first examine the Energel Alloy RT, you’ll immediately be impressed by its solid construction. The clip has a tad more spring than that of the original and fits snug to a shirt or pant pocket with little movement. The knock is even more satisfying than the original as it feels very sturdy and does not rattle. The etched wavy ridges on the grip mimic those of the original rubber grip and do a great job at preventing slippage when writing.
The Writing Experience
The Energel Alloy RT comes packaged with a medium point black refill. The refill writes smoothly; however, I prefer the blue needlepoint refill because it provides a smoother writing experience for me. Both refills are gems! They lay down crisp, clean, and dark lines. The Energel Alloy RT has a nice weight to it and feels balanced in the hand. The added weight creates a smoother writing experience than the original.
