The Parker Jotter is one of the most iconic writing instruments of the 20th Century. The Jotter was introduced in 1954 with a $1.95 price tag and quickly became a best seller due to its reliability and affordability. Growing up, the Parker Jotter was always within reach as it was my mother's pen of choice. Even then, I marveled at its design. The Jotter is sleek, sophisticated, compact, and virtually indestructible. It also comes in a variety of colors to fit your specific style.
The Jotter is a good quality everyday pen for under $10. It is always ready and reliable like a trusted friend. The Parker QuinkFlow refill is excellent! It flows extremely well and is one of the cleanest ballpoint refills I’ve used. Others swear that it is one of the smoothest ballpoint pens on the market and I agree. What prevents me from adding the Jotter to my Top 5 List is its uncomfortable writing experience which is due to its slender barrel. I have medium sized hands, but this pen is much too slender for my taste. After extended use, my hand cramps and my fingers become quite sore. Like the Fisher Space Pen Cap-O-Matic, this pen’s barrel is too thin for those with larger hands. If Parker were to widen the barrel slightly, the Jotter and I would be inseparable.
Penman's Final Remark
The Parker Jotter provides a smooth writing experience; however, it may lack comfort for those with larger hands. The pen is great for jotting quick notes but may not be comfortable using for a full day.
