I found the Lamy Noto in my local stationers and I thought it was quite interesting. I have had an excellent experience with Lamy fountain pens and have always wanted to try one of their ballpoints. This pen was for $8.00, so i couldn't resist the urge to give it a try! From day one, this pen has impressed me with its flawless performance and unique design.
For an $8.00 pen, the Lamy Noto is very well designed and crafted for durability. The molded plastic barrel does not feel cheap at all. The barrel has triangular shape and fits in the hand quite well. The pen has a quiet and smooth clicker which is almost absolutely silent when pushed. This was a unique feature included by Lamy.
Although this pen could be mistaken for a disposable pen, it certainly doesn't write like one! Lamy's medium point M16 refill is one of the smoothest ballpoint refills I have used, especially in a pen this inexpensive. I'm a huge fan.
To me, the Lamy Noto is a great entry level pen for someone who is just beginning their pen collection or for someone who is looking to make the switch from disposable pens. This is also a great inexpensive everyday carry pen.
